If you’re a beef lover that wants to venture beyond our traditional American beef, we invite you to try our Argentinian Beef Box!
We are known for our Leahy’s Angus Beef that features the best qualities of Midwestern American Beef. However, there are different beef production methods throughout the world that lead to different tasting beef. It is our goal to showcase some of these differences and let you enjoy the world of beef!
This box features Angus beef cattle from one of the world’s renowned beef producers: Argentina.
You probably know that the same wine grape grown in different places in the world can make wines that taste vastly different. This is called the “terroir” of the place where the grape is grown. The soil, water, weather conditions, and plants surrounding the grapes make up the terroir that shape flavors you’ll find in the wine.
Beef is no different. Different types of soil and water yield grasses with different nutritional content. When cattle graze on these grasses, the differences in regional grasses will in turn lead to different flavored beef. In the same way, different grains used to supplement feed will yield different flavors as well.
These cattle raised on Argentine grassland and finished with Argentine grain reflect the terroir of Argentina just as much as a glass of fine Argentinian Malbec. We invite you to try for yourself!
