Buffalo

Buffalo seasoning is an American hot sauce invented in Buffalo, New York, at the Anchor Bar. While we now use the word buffalo as a generic term for hot sauce, it’s hard to believe that according to most stories, this seasoning wasn’t invented until the 1970’s! Buffalo sauce is made up of butter, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper and, of course hot sauce. Plenty of commercial buffalo sauces exist, but if you want to make your own sauce, you can control the level of heat to your own taste.

We all know that buffalo chicken wings are delicious, but they can be a messy pain to eat. Make your own boneless buffalo wings at home by using chicken tenders cut into bite size pieces. Toss them in the sauce and bake or deep fry. You can also try adding your favorite buffalo sauce to shrimp or you can even use buffalo sauce as a pizza sauce for a spicy pizza! Get crazy and enjoy the sauce!
