Short ribs are a winter time favorite when they’re braised in a rich gravy, but they’re also great on the grill in the summer when prepared BBQ style! Get BBQ style short ribs from LGCM, then try your hand at making this Korean staple. We use a simple marinade for the ribs, grill them over a hot fire, and then slice thin. You can serve as an appetizer by rolling each strip up and spearing with a toothpick, or serve as an entree on top of noodles or rice. Enjoy!
- 1 cup Soy Sauce
- 2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
- 2 tsp Chinese Five Spice Mixture
- 1 clove Garlic (minced)
- 2 lb Leahy’s Angus Beef Short Ribs (cut BBQ (flanken) style)
Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, Chinese Five Spice, and garlic and pour into a sealable plastic bag. Add the short ribs and cover the ribs with the marinade. Set aside while preparing grill.
Heat your grill to high heat (450ºF). Once the grill is hot, place each strip of short rib directly over the heat. Cook for 3 minutes per side, flipping only once. Remove and let rest for 3 minutes.
After resting, cut the beef into thin strips running the entire length of the rib. Serve hot and enjoy!
