This grilled pork loin roast recipe will change your mind on how to prepare this affordable and versatile cut of meat!

We normally think of roasting roasts in the oven, but using a grill and indirect heat results in a different kind of delicious. A touch of the grill’s flame and smoke gives the pork an additional layer of flavor that the oven can’t match.

With only a few simple steps and seasonings, you’ll have a meal that your entire family will enjoy and your wallet will love. Keep reading to get answers to a few questions about this recipe, or scroll down to the recipe to start cooking!

What Is a Boneless Pork Loin Roast?

Boneless pork loin roasts come from the middle section of the back of a pig — the same area that gives us pork chops. It’s a lean, tender cut that cooks evenly and slices beautifully.

Don’t confuse this cut with a tenderloin, which is smaller and more delicate. The pork loin is significantly bigger than a tenderloin, making it perfect to roast and slice for feeding a crowd or creating plentiful leftovers.

Let’s Talk Flavor

Boneless pork loin roasts are a blank canvas for flavor. In this recipe, I went with a classic salt, pepper, garlic rub to let the flavor of the pork and grill really shine.

That said, this roast is incredibly versatile, and you can season it to your taste. Here are a few ideas:

  • Go smoky with a blend of paprika, cumin, and garlic.
  • Make a sliceable barbecue pork roast with your favorite barbecue rub.
  • Lean into classic Italian flavors with salt, pepper, and dried herbs.
  • Pork loves Asian flavors, and a teriyaki marinade is a lovely match for this dish.
  • For a savory-sweet option, try a brown sugar and mustard glaze like you would use on an Easter ham.

You can either use a dry rub or marinate the pork for 1 – 24 hours to achieve the flavor you prefer.

How should I serve my grilled pork loin roast?

Once your roast is done grilling, pull it off the grill, let it rest for 5 – 10 minutes, then slice it thinly to serve to everyone.

When I served this, I kept the sides classic: crispy roasted potatoes and bright, lightly charred asparagus. It was a perfect match.

This roast is easygoing and flexible, so serve it with whatever suits the occasion. Salads, mashed potatoes, sweet corn, rice pilaf, and whatever else you enjoy are all excellent matches.

You can also create a quick gravy to serve over the top of the roasts – always a delicious option!
