This was one of those recipes we weren’t sure how well it would work out. The concept sounded good, because we love Cajun food and we love pizza. Surely the two could combine into one harmonious whole, right? We’d start with Golden Home thin crusts, add pizza sauce and then the Cajun Holy Trinity of vegetables – onion, green pepper and…celery. We’d never had celery on a pizza before, would that even taste good? Then we’d add our signature Smoked Andouille Sausage, Mozzarella Cheese and Old Bay Seasoning. Would the cheese drown out the Andouille Sausage? Was the Old Bay the right seasoning or should we go with Cajun? Well, after anxiously waiting while the pizza was baking, we got the answer – THIS IS A DELICIOUS PIZZA! Celery is absolutely wonderful on pizza (just make sure you slice it thin so that it bakes), the flavor of the Andouille shone through and the Old Bay gave the pizza just enough flavor without overpowering the Andouille’s Cajun flavor. This pizza has a bit of kick when you eat it, but not too much. If you’d like to up the spiciness, try using Pepper Jack cheese instead of Mozzarella, add Tabasco sauce to the pizza or use Cajun seasoning instead of Old Bay. What do you think of this pizza? Ingredients

  • 1 package(s) LGCM Smoked Andouille Sausage (sliced into pieces)
  • 1 package(s) Golden Home Ultra Thin Pizza Crusts (contains three 12″ crusts)
  • 1 can(s) Pizza Sauce (15 oz)
  • 1 Yellow Onion (medium)
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper (cut into thin slices)
  • 2 rib(s) Celery (cut into thin slices)
  • 18 slice(s) Mozzarella Cheese (cut into thin slices)
  • Old Bay Seasoning (or shredded cheese if you prefer)

Directions

  1. Spread pizza sauce evenly across crusts, leaving room at the edges of the crust. Top with sliced vegetables and Andouille Sausage. Add cheese on top and then season with Old Bay seasoning. Repeat steps for all crusts in the package.

  2. Place crusts in an oven preheated to 425º. Bake for 12 minutes or until cheese is melted and sauce is bubbling. Note – you can also grill this pizza if you like!

  3. Remove from oven, let rest for 3 minutes, slice and serve. Enjoy!
