Chicken Fried Steak is a classic Southern Recipe that uses the same pan chicken was fried in to fry beef. The little extra chicken flavor makes the steak’s breading even more delicious. We recreate the chicken frying pan by adding chicken broth to our gravy and the results are delicious! Give this easy and inexpensive recipe a try at home – it’ll soon be a staple in your dinner rotation!
- 4 Leahy’s Angus Beef Cube Steaks
- 1 cup Flour
- 3 Egg (beaten)
- 2 cup Chicken Broth
- 1 cup Milk (whole)
- .25 cup Vegetable Oil
- 2 tsp Thyme
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
Bread your cube steaks by dredging them in flour, coating them with the beaten eggs and then dredging them in the flour again.
Pour the vegetable oil into a large frying pan, and heat over medium-high heat.
Once the oil is heated, add the meat and cook on both sides until browned, about 4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan, add the Chicken Broth and Whole Milk and whisk until the gravy begins to thicken. Continue to simmer until the mixture reaches the consistency of gravy. If necessary stir in 1 tsp. corn starch to thicken the mixture.
Season the gravy with thyme, salt and pepper.
Spoon gravy on top of the Chicken Fried Steaks and enjoy!
