Here’s a Pork Chop recipe that combines two of fall’s best flavors – apples and candy! Combine applesauce and cinnamon red hots into a sauce to serve on top of Pork Chops for a sweet and spicy dinner combo. Thanks to the Pork Council for this recipe, it’s a great one. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat and add oil once the pan is hot. Lightly season your pork chops with salt and pepper and place them in the skillet.
Cook the pork chops for 4 minutes per side, flipping only once. After the 8 minutes of cooking, pour chicken broth and lemon juice to the skillet and reduce heat to low. Cover the skillet, and simmer gently for five minutes or until the pork chops reach 145°F.
While you are cooking the pork chops, stir together the applesauce and candy in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring often, untl the candies are melted. Stir well to combine.
Remove the pork chops from the skillet, let rest for 3 minutes and top with cinnamon red hot applesauce. Serve with roasted red potatoes and steamed green beans.
Enjoy!
