Beef Brisket is great for BBQ Beef Sandwiches. If you don’t have a smoker, or don’t want to watch a grill all day, this is an easy recipe to follow to make an Oven Roasted BBQ Beef Brisket. Simply rub, roast and slice. In this recipe, since we are oven roasting, we use a beef brisket flat piece, which has no fat cap on it. If you are smoking a beef brisket, we recommend using a beef brisket that does have a fat cap left on the meat.

Ingredients

  • 5 lb Brisket (flat piece)
  • 32 oz Beef Stock
  • 2 cup Red Wine (or whiskey for smokier flavor)
  • 1 bottle LGCM BBQ Sauce
  • Sandwich Buns
  • 2 Tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Onion Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tsp Dry Mustard
  • 2 Tbsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Pepper (black)

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the dry rub ingredients.

  2. Rub your brisket with the seasoning until covered & let rest 1 hour.

  3. In a roasting pan, pour beef stock and red wine or whiskey in the bottom and place your rack above the beef stock and place your brisket on top.

  4. Preheat your oven to 250F, cover your brisket with tinfoil and let it roast for 4-5 hours or until tender.

  5. Increase your heat to 300F, remove tinfoil and let it roast for 1 hour. The Brisket should reach an internal temperature of 175-180F.

  6. Remove your brisket from the oven and place on a cutting board, let it rest for about 30-45 minutes.

  7. Slice to your preferred thickness and top with BBQ sauce.

  8. Serve on top of buns and enjoy!!
