We are excited to share that Lake Geneva Country Meats has earned 20 medals and the prestigious Ehrenpokal des Deutschen Fleischer-Verbandes (Honorary Trophy of the German Butchers’ Association for overall product excellence) at the 2025 DFV-AAMP Quality Competition for Sausage and Ham!
What is the DFV-AAMP Quality Competition?
This prestigious event, held in partnership between the American Association of Meat Processors (AAMP) and the German Butchers’ Association (DFV), is one of the most rigorous and respected meat competitions in the world.
Unlike traditional competitions where products go head-to-head against each other, this event follows strict European evaluation standards. Each entry starts with a perfect score of 50 points and is judged on appearance, consistency, aroma, and taste. Points are only deducted for defects, and products that maintain a perfect score receive a gold medal.
Judging took place at Iowa State University in January, where DFV judges flown in specifically for the competition carefully evaluated over 630 entries. Only the best of the best received medals, making this an incredible honor for our team and products!
