Do you have a killer chili recipe? Enter it in the Lake Geneva Chili Cook Off presented by Lake Geneva Country Meats and Hawk’s View Golf Club for a chance to win cash prizes! Held in conjunction with Winterfest 2017, the Lake Geneva Chili Cook Off will be showing off the best chili’s made by home cooks and restaurants in the area. We’ll have lots more than just chili though, there are also lots of fun family events like live music, sledding (weather permitting) and plenty of games for the kids! INFORMATION ABOUT ATTENDING
Come try all of the chilis and enjoy winter fun galore at Hawk’s View! For just $10, you can sample the available chilis starting at 11:30 AM, vote in the People’s Choice awards, sled on the Hawk’s View hill, enjoy live music from The Barnacles, partake in children activities like face painting, sample beer from Pat, the owner of Geneva Lake Brewing Co. from 11:30 AM – 1 PM, and more!
There will be drink specials, including a Bloody Mary and Hot Chocolate bars starting at 10:00 AM, food specials featuring Chili Brats and s’mores, plus a fire outside. It’s a great event to enjoy after viewing the ice carvings at the Riviera! Tickets to attend are available at the door, plus Hawk’s View will donate $2 from each ticket sold to the Lake Geneva Food Pantry!
INFORMATION ABOUT ENTERING CHILI
To compete, purchase your competition entry ticket here, cook up at least 4 quarts of your chili, put it in a slow cooker and then bring it to the competition at Hawk’s View Golf Club on February 4th. You can put one entry in each of the following categories:
• Red Chili – based on beef, beans are allowed, but pasta is not! You’ll get 2 lbs. of frozen ground beef from LGCM to use while making this chili, if you wish. Other beef products are allowable.
• White Chili – based on poultry, beans are allowed, but pasta is not! You’ll get 2 lbs. of frozen ground chicken from LGCM to use while making this chili, if you wish. Other poultry products are allowable.
• Vegetarian Chili – based on vegetables, you can use beans and pasta in this category.
Entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges on taste, appearance and consistency with a minimum of $150 of cash prizes will be handed out to winners! For the complete official rules and more information, please visit our website at www.lakegenevachilicookoff.com.
To register as a participant, head over to our Eventbrite page to get your tickets. You will then select which categories in which you wish to enter. Complete the checkout process and you’re entered. You’ll get a confirmation email from Eventbrite and within 24 hours, you’ll receive an additional email from Lake Geneva Country Meats with the code to get your free ground beef or ground chicken at LGCM and further details.
