Salmon is a delicious and healthy fish that can be prepared in so many different ways! We love this easy to make recipe that uses smoky and salty flavors from a Scotch whiskey marinade combined with the woodsy flavor that comes from cooking the salmon on a cedar plank. Even if you don’t have a cedar plank, you can still make this recipe, just turn down the heat to make sure you don’t overcook the fish. Do you have any extra seasonings you like to add to this recipe? Let us know in the comments below and enjoy this recipe!
Soak cedar planks in water for 2 hours before cooking.
Combine whiskey, vinegar, honey, mustard, salt, pepper and lemon zest in a large bowl. Whisk until combined. Put salmon fillets in a sealable plastic bag and pour in marinade. Seal the bag and work marinade over all surfaces of the fish. Click here to read why we don’t have to marinate longer!
Heat your grill to 425ºF and set up for indirect grilling. Place the salmon on the cedar planks and then place the planks on the hot grill.
Cook for about 15 minutes until the salmon is pink in the middle and reaches an internal temperature of 135ºF. Remove from grill, transfer the fillets to a platter and serve. Enjoy!
