Greek Lamb Burger
Greek Lamb Burger
We decided to make this Greek Lamb Burger recipe because we were getting lots of requests for ground lamb recipes from our customers that have lambs processed at our store and have more ground lamb than they know what to do with. We wanted to make a recipe that showed off the richer flavor of lamb compared to ground beef and was totally different than your “usual” burger.

Ingredients
- 2 lb Ground Lamb
- 1 Egg (beaten)
- 1 cup Parsley (fresh, chopped)
- 1/2 cup Mint (fresh, chopped)
- 3/4 cup Bread Crumbs
- 1/4 cup Lemon Juice (juice from one lemon)
- 1 Tbsp Kosher Salt
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 2 tsp Onion Powder
- 2 tsp Black Pepper
- Pita Pockets (for serving)
- Lettuce (chopped, for serving)
- Tomato (sliced, for serving)
- Red Onion (thinly sliced, for serving)
- Feta Cheese (crumbled, for serving)
- Tzatziki Sauce (for serving)
Directions
- Add ground lamb, egg, parsley, mint, bread crumbs, lemon juice, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper to a large mixing bowl. Mix the ingredients together with your hands until combined and the lamb has formed a meatloaf like texture.
- Split the meat into six (or eight if you like smaller burgers) equal portions, and make patties out of the meat.
- Place the patties on a grill over medium high heat and cook for 4 – 5 minutes per side. Cook the meat until it reaches 160ºF or your desired doneness, and then remove from grill. Let the burgers rest for 5 minutes before serving.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a schmear of Tzatziki sauce (store bought or homemade – here’s arecipe) in a pita pocket, then add in lettuce. Place a burger inside the pita pocket on top of the lettuce, and then top with onion, tomato, and feta cheese. Enjoy a delicious Greek Lamb Burger, and try not to get Tzatziki all over yourself like I did in the video!
