Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Pork
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Black Pepper
- 2 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 3 Bell Pepper (various colors – sliced)
- 1 Yellow Onion (sliced)
- 1 cup Broccoli (florets)
- 2 clove Garlic (minced)
- .25 cup Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Mirin (or substitute 1 tsp white sugar)
- 2 tsp Sesame Oil
- Green Onion (freshly sliced for garnish)
- Sesame Seeds (for garnish)
Directions
- Heat a large skillet or wok to medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. When the oil is hot, add the ground pork, and seas with salt and pepper.
- Cook the ground pork until it is browned, breaking the pork into small pieces as it cooks. Once cooked, remove the pork to a paper towel-lined plate and set aside.
- In the same dish, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Sauté the onion, peppers, and broccoli for about 6 minutes, until the vegetables are tender. Then add the garlic and cook until the garlic is fragrant, about 1 minute.
- In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, mirin, and sesame oil. Add the cooked pork back to the vegetable mixture, and pour in the soy sauce mix. Stir well to combine, and cook until heated through, about 2 minutes.
- Taste the dish and adjust the seasoning to your preference. A bit more soy sauce, salt, or pepper may be needed. You can also add a touch of hot sauce such as Sriracha to the dish if you like a spicy dish.
- Once cooked, remove the dish from the heat, and serve over rice with chopped green onions, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.Enjoy your ground pork Asian stir fry!
