Plan on ordering about 1 lb per person. Smaller turkeys have proportionally more bone and less meat, so allow a little extra per person for a smaller bird, and a little more if you’d like leftovers.
Call us if you’d like help choosing a size.
For a larger group, we recommend ordering two smaller birds instead of one larger bird. Two 12-pound birds will cook faster and more evenly than one 24-pound bird, and often fit in an oven more easily.
A whole turkey plus a turkey breast works well to add more meat and please groups who love white meat but don't enjoy dark meat.
Harrison’s turkeys are fresh, never-frozen Minnesota birds from our year-round poultry supplier. Alden Hills turkeys are pasture-raised in Walworth, Wisconsin, with a richer flavor, and are previously frozen.
They're both excellent birds. Pick the flavor your group prefers.
Choose a pickup day close to the day you’ll cook. USDA guidance is generally to refrigerate fresh or thawed turkey at home for 1–2 days before cooking.
No - our turkeys are fresh.
You may find some ice crystals inside the chest cavity. This is because we rinse the turkeys with water as part of preparing them for you to enjoy at home, then chill them to 32 degrees.
Water freezes at this temperature, but the meat stays fresh. Keeping the turkeys as cold as possible without freezing is the best way to maintain quality.
Cooking time varies by bird size and method. For a whole, unstuffed turkey, plan on roughly 13–15 minutes per pound at 325°F. Use a food thermometer to confirm 165°F in the thickest part of the breast and the innermost thigh and wing, away from bone.
USDA recommends 165°F, checked with a food thermometer in the thickest part of the breast and the innermost thigh and wing, away from bone. If you cook stuffing inside the bird, its center must also reach 165°F.
Nothing is charged when you reserve; you pay at pickup. There is no calendar cutoff—each size closes when it sells out. Final pricing uses the bird’s actual weight.
We do not offer pre-cooked turkeys or meals.
We do offer turkey butchering to make cooking and serving easier. Whole-turkey services are cutting the turkey in half ($5), cutting into eighths ($10), and spatchcocking ($10) per bird. Turkey breast deboning is $10 per breast.
