Enjoy a delicious beef stew at home by following our easy slow cooker beef stew recipe. Watch Nick show you how easy it is to make a flavorful stew with almost no prep time at all. Once you put the ingredients in the slow cooker, it’s “set it and forget it” until you come home and it’s time to eat! Let us know your favorite stew ingredients in the comments below.

Ingredients

  • 3 lb Leahy’s Angus Beef Stew Meat
  • 8 Red Potatoes (halved)
  • 1 Yellow Onion (cut into chunks)
  • 1 bag Baby Carrots
  • 2 cup Beef Broth
  • .5 cup Red Wine (dry red wine; subtitute a stout beef for a darker flavor or a bourbon for a smokier flavor)
  • 2 Tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 2 Tbsp Flour
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • LGCM Ultimate Steak and Roast Rub

Directions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pan until hot. Add the beef stew meat and season moderately with the steak and roast rub. Add tomato paste to beef and stir until combined. Cook over high heat until meat is browned on all sides.

  2. Once the beef is browned, dust the beef with flour and stir until the flour is absorbed by the beef. Remove from heat and set aside.

  3. Add the beef broth and red wine to the bottom of the slow cooker, then add the stew meat. Once stew meat is added, add the vegetables around the meat.

  4. Cook on the slowest available setting for your time frame. IE – if you have a 10 hour setting and are eating in 10 hours, cook for 10 hours. If you have 6 and 8 hour settings and are eating in 6 hours, use the 6 hour setting. If no timed settings are available, cook on low for 8 hours.

  5. Once cooking time is completed, remove from slow cooker and serve meat and vegetables together with the gravy in slow cooker.

  6. Enjoy!
