Barramundi is an Australian staple that’s becoming more popular in America. This is a mildly flavored, white flaky fish that is great to pan sear or bake to your taste. This is a fun recipe that you can quickly pan sear and top with homemade Pico de Gallo or the freshly made Pico from our deli case. We are happy to stock Barramundi from Akoona, a Best Aquaculture Practices certified fishery in the Red Sea. Pick up some of these sustainably raised fillets and enjoy them at home tonight!

Ingredients

  • 2 fillet Barramundi (defrosted)
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • Urban Accents Fisherman’s Wharf (or similar seafood seasoning)
  • Pico de Gallo (for topping)

Directions

  1. Pat dry the defrosted Barramundi fillets and season to your taste with Fisherman’s Wharf seasoning. Old Bay or other seafood seasonings also work great!

  2. Heat olive oil in a large, non stick skillet over medium high heat. Once hot, add the fish and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, flipping only once. The fish should be white and flake easily when it is done.

  3. Remove the fish from the pan, let cool and serve on top of a salad or rice. Top with fresh pico de gallo and enjoy!
