How to Cook Our Fresh Sausages

Two ways to get great results — pick the one that fits your day.

The Best Way

When you've got 25 minutes & a cold drink
  1. Preheat your grill to medium-low direct heat.
  2. Place brats on the grate and close the lid.
  3. Flip every 2 – 3 minutes for even browning on all sides.
  4. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (about 20–25 minutes total).
  5. Rest for 2–3 minutes before serving.

The Easy Way

When you need to watch your kids, not the grill
  1. Bring a pot of water (NOT beer) to a boil.
  2. Add the brats and reduce the heat to a simmer. Cook for about 10 – 12 minutes until cooked through (160°F).
  3. Transfer to a grill or oven broiler and brown for 2 – 3 minutes per side over medium-high heat.

Soak your brats in warm beer AFTER you cook them, not while cooking them. Would you like to drink boiled beer? No — that would taste gross! So why would you cook your brats in that burnt flavor?
