We’re still mad about Green Bay losing, but at least we’ll be able to watch some of the Green Bay players in the all star game this weekend! In the spirit of the star studded, best of the best event, we took a look at our 2014 top sellers in a few different categories and named them our 2014 LGCM All Stars. Check them out!
Ground Beef – versatile and delicious, ground beef was our overall best seller and most popular item. 85% lean ground chuck mixed with steak trimmings is a recipe for delicious, and we’re sure it’ll be our top seller next year as well after we sold over 4,500# in our 50 years, 50¢ ground beef promotion!
Pork Chops – pork chops and apple sauce! We credit a resurgence in interest in the Brady Bunch for the success of pork chops this year. Or maybe everybody made the Beer & Bacon Pork Chop recipe you see above. Either way, we anticipate a strong challenge from baby back ribs next year.
Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts – they say boneless skinless chicken breasts are every butcher shop’s best seller – that’s not true at LGCM! Our ground beef, bratwursts and even a few steaks sell better. That’s not a knock on this dinner staple however, and you really should try our jumbo sized breasts. They’re super tasty! Especially when you wrap them in prosciutto like you see above.
Cod – we’ll keep on telling you, we have more than just great meat at Lake Geneva Country Meats, we have great seafood too! Our cod is one of those great seafood items; it’s easy to prepare and very affordable. It’s easy to make a simple baked cod dinner, or you can fancy it up and include it in this gourmet bouillabaisse recipe you see above.
Cherry Brats – a cherry? In a bratwurst? We get this question a lot, but once people try one of our secret recipe cherry bratwursts they’re hooked! In a tight race with our traditional bratwurst and the Portabella Mushroom & Swiss Cheese bratwurst, 2013’s best seller, Cherry won the race to sell the most and be named the All-Star Bratwurst of 2014!
Cheese Curds – it’s Wisconsin and people love cheese curds. You can munch on them, deep fry them, put them on a burger, and there are probably a million more things you could do with them. However you like to eat them, we’re happy to announce that Vern’s Cheese Curds have been named the 2015 LGCM All-Star Cheese.
All-Star Deli Item
Twice Baked Potatoes – scooped by hand (mostly by Maria and Angela that you see above making soup), and made with love, millions have come to love our twice baked potatoes. We can’t keep up with demand, and we’re sure now that they’re an all-star, it’ll be even harder to make enough potatoes! Get them while you can!
Eppa Sangria – it seems strange, but a sangria really is our best selling wine! I can’t say enough good things about Eppa Sangria, it’s made from organic superfruits, it’s full of anti-oxidants and it’s DELICIOUS. You should try some!
New Glarus Brewing Co. Spotted Cow – we end our list with something so intrinsically Wisconsin there could be no doubt…Spotted Cow is our 2014 LGCM All-Star Beer. Cold, smooth, refreshing, and only available in Wisconsin, enjoy a 6 pack (or 12 pack) with some of the other LGCM all-stars.
